Vintage Wrangler Clothing has been a staple in the Dirty Harry collections since we first began selling jeans back in the early 1990’s. Formerly the Hudson Overall Company, Wrangler have been wrangling for more than a century, with the modern version of the brand established in 1947 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Initially made by the Blue Bell Overall Company, Wrangler jeans were a run of the mill 1940’s trouser, before Blue Bell employed Bernard ‘Rodeo Ben’ Lichtenstein. The Polish tailor was familiar with the needs of cowboys and the search for better rodeo jeans was the origin of Wrangler Jeans.
Check out these vintage Wrangler TV adverts from the Eighties featuring The Wrangler himself. The UK advert from 1981 features the great line, ‘so long as you wear Wranglers, you’ve got a two legged friend’.
